FAQS

What is male microblading?

Male microblading is the artistic tattoo technique where we place individual hair strokes with a tool called a microblade. Unlike traditional tattooing, a microblading artist hand draws each individual hair to match the color and coarseness of your eyebrows. This gives a realist look, its undedctable leaving you with a natural result.

How does Microblading work?

A sequence of very superficial cuts are made where we deposit pigment creating fuller more dense brows.

Can microblading hide scarring?

Yes, in most cases microblading does a great job at hiding scarring. To ensure you are a candidate for microblading, we will need to review the scar beforehand.

Does microblading work on all skin colors?

Yes, it sure does! Microblading works great on all skin colors. If you have oily skin, large pores, or keloid scarring around the area we do not recommend microoblading. For a complete list of contraindications, please contact us.

Does male microblading look natural?

Yes! Our experienced and talented artists specialize in male microblading and understand the importance of creating a natural result. How one does a female brow is completely different than one does a male brow. At The Guy Brow, we specialize in men’s brows.

How long do the results last?

Microblading results will generally last anywhere from 18 to 24 months with proper aftercare and follow-up visits. Skin type and a person’s lifestyle can impact the longevity of the microblading result.

Does microblading hurt?

We use a topical anesthetic to numb the area so the vast majority of our male clients report very little to no discomfort at all.

How much does male microblading cost?

For pricing please refer to our booking page.

How long does the appointment take?

The average appointment time is 2 hours from start to finish. Most of the time is spent consulting with the client first and determining their goals and expectations, selecting the colors and drawing the eyebrow shape. The actual treatment itself lasts about 30-45 minutes.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Before your treatment at THE GUY BROW, we encourage our clients to look for their ideal eyebrows on social media and the Internet. Eyebrows are not a one-size-fits-all, so it’s important for us to understand what it is that you would like for your desired result.

Save any pictures you find and show us at your appointment. Our expert artists will work with you to customize your brows for the look you want while also using the “golden ratio” when mapping out your eyebrow shape to maximize the ideal facial proportions.

Starting one week before your appointment do not tan or have a sunburn, avoid plucking, waxing, threading or any hair removal services, do not use retinols/retin-A or other anti-aging/acne creams around the eyebrow area and do not apply any chemicals on or around the eyebrows.

48 hours prior to your session do not take any aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, vitamin E, fish oils (omega-3) or CoQ10.

24 hours prior to your session avoid alcohol and all caffeine related beverages.

What is the healing time?

The entire healing process will take 4-6 weeks depending on your body regeneration and age. Your new eyebrows will go through several different phases during the healing cycle.

The pigment will appear very dark immediately following the procedure and may get darker the next day.

After the recovery period (peeling phase) the brows will be very light, you might even think they went away! Even with the proper care, clients will peel/fade more in different areas which may leave the brows looking patchy or uneven during this phase. It is absolutely normal. This is the reason why most clients need a touch up after 8 weeks.

Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes on dry skin. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from our eyebrows. The final look of your eyebrows will be apparent approximately 30 days after your procedure.

Never rub the treated area as it will disturb the skin from naturally healing.

Once completely healed (after 30 days) always apply a SPF 30 to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color of the pigment to fade away more quickly.

Please visit our After-Care Page for more information.

What is the post-treatment care?

Do not get your eyebrows wet for 14 days post procedure. We recommend no heavy sweating for 14 days post procedure as well. Stay out of the sun and water while your eyebrows are healing.

Who is NOT a good candidate for Microblading?

If you have any of the following skin conditions on or surrounding your brow area you may not be the best candidate for Microblading. Eczema, Psoriasis, Keratosis Pilaris, a current sunburn in or around the area, have heart conditions (which usually cause you to be on blood thinners), large pores and or oily skin.

Will touch-ups be needed?

The best results generally come from a two-step treatment. Touch-ups allow us to view how the color is regenerating and add in areas that may not have healed as well as we would like to see. Touch-ups are beneficial for color restoration, shape correction, and any fine tuning the client may desire. A touch-up is typically needed between 4-8 weeks.

What is the industry standard for gratuity?

Gratuity is neither mandatory or expected however is appreciated and fully left to the discretion of the client.

Is there free parking available?

Yes! Free, no hassle parking right outside the clinic!
